PimpThisBum dot com video

Here is a video about this website as well. Is it (the site, not the video) helpful??

PimpThisBum dot com

Here is a reaction-provoking article about a unique way somebody thought up to help homeless men and women. One particular homeless man in Houston, to be exact. A few posts ago, I touted a fellow called Peter's methods of creatively addressing some homeless issues in Los Angeles (by the way...did you notice who that fellow was? Besides a concerned citizen of LA? That's right, he's the producer of Revenge of the Nerds. And he commented on that particular post. Somehow the producer of Revenge of the Nerds found my blog and then commented on it ...uh...I mean...what?!) Anyway, with this post, my intent is to neither condemn nor condone. Instead, it's to air the questions that came to my mind after reading it. They are thusly:

Is this an effective way of helping a man who is homeless?

Is the homeless man a victim of exploitation?

Is the relationship between the homeless man and the people who intentionally reached out to him genuine? Given the name of the website, can it even be genuine?

Is that relationship, initiated by the out-reachers, really compassionate in nature? Can it even be compassionate?

Could similar methods help a larger number of homeless men and women?

Could the name of the site be a hangup that prevents individuals or organizations from validating this as an appropriate way to engage homeless men and women? Would a name like that prevent the exploration, on the part of the individual or organization, of unorthodox, but possibly effective ways of helping homeless men and women (like Peter in LA did with EDAR?...you know, after HE PRODUCED REVENGE OF THE NERDS.)
